The Houston duo of DJ Elevated & Mookie Copeland has spent nearly a decade turning clubs into communal therapy sessions. Their genre-blending parties—Electrobounce at Eldorado Ballroom, Fantastic Voyage at Boondocks, and “Dance Your A** Off” at Paradise Palace—swerve from R&B and hip-hop to deep house, Afro-rhythms and reggae, keeping dancers locked in a feel-good groove that “heals the people” and kicks bottle-service boredom to the curb.

Kazembe “DJ Elevated” Gray anchors Soul Control and steers Houston’s freshDark Fest, a home-grown celebration of electronic, funk, jazz and global bass. A veteran of residencies at House of Blues’ Foundation Room and Alley Kat, he also co-hosts KPFT’s Oil & Wax Radio, weaving worldwide rhythms into mind-expanding mixes.

Virginia Beach-born, Houston-based Mookie Copeland (fka DJ AnArchy) supplies the other half of Soul Control’s spark. Known for his left-field edits and “audio collage” live sets, he stitches baile funk, R&B flips and pan-diasporic club sounds into high-octane journeys—proving every night that eclecticism hits hardest when the dance floor moves as one.
